Actor Devashish Shares Diwali Plans and Celebrations on Set of Udne Ki Aasha

Actor Devashish, who plays Akash in Udne Ki Aasha, a Star Plus and Disney+ Hotstar show produced by Rahul Kumar Tewary and Rolling Tales Production, recently opened up about his Diwali plans and how this year’s celebration holds a unique meaning for him. Known for his roles as antagonists, Devashish has often portrayed characters who stir up drama rather than join in festivities, which has shaped his perspective on celebrating Diwali on-screen.
“Honestly, I’ve played a lot of negative characters, so usually we don’t celebrate Diwali in the show. The positive characters do, and we come in and just spoil the Diwali,” he laughed. “I’ve played Ravan in a few shows, but in Udne Ki Aasha, Akash is more like Lakshman—a supportive, family-oriented character. This time, I get to enjoy the Diwali celebrations on screen too, which is refreshing!”
Reflecting on his childhood memories, Devashish fondly remembered shopping trips with his mother, buying sweets, and spending time with cousins. “We used to burst crackers back then, but now I’m strictly against it. I encourage everyone to avoid crackers due to pollution. Diwali should be about positivity, not harm to the environment.”
Devashish expressed gratitude for the bond he has formed with the Udne Ki Aasha cast and crew. “This year’s Diwali is special because I’ve found a new family on set. The production and creative teams are amazing, and there’s a positivity here that makes every day enjoyable. Celebrating Diwali on set is like celebrating it in real life,” he concluded with excitement.
